Nonstop flights to Puerto Vallarta depart daily from airports in major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas. The easiest way to get from the airport to your hotel is to take an airport taxi.

Puerto Vallarta’s downtown area is easy to get around on foot, and the city’s bus network offers an inexpensive way to reach neighborhoods outside the downtown area. Taxis are another option, but make sure to agree on a fare before getting in a cab. Uber also operates in Puerto Vallarta. Water taxis are available at Playa de los Muertos pier in the Zona Romántica if you’d like to explore some of the beaches south of the city. If you’re planning on taking a daytrip, renting a car is probably your best bet although some guided tours include transportation services.
